Well, things are going to be different with Sunny Mehta as general manager, aren’t they?

Early yesterday evening, the New Jersey Devils announced they were tendering Utah Mammoth center Barrett Hayton to a one-year offer sheet worth $4.775 million.

Hayton, a 26-year-old RFA, was reportedly close to becoming a Devil at the NHL Draft, but the Mammoth pulled out of the trade. That’s when Mehta struck with an offer sheet. The Mammoth have one week to match from the date of signing.
