Devils' Early Schedule Is to Their Advantage
The New Jersey Devils' schedule through the end of November should allow them to not only bank points but work on any concerns they have.
Have the New Jersey Devils gotten off to the best start? No, but it hasn't been the worst, either. There's been good, like the final 20 minutes against the Florida Panthers, where they nearly came back from a four-goal deficit. But there's also been the bad, like the slow starts and the penalty kill.
Fortunately, the Devils' schedule should play in their favor as they get into November. They currently have three days off between that Panthers game on Monday and their next tilt on Friday (Oct. 20) against the New York Islanders before having another three days off between games heading into next week.
Not only do the Devils need to bank some points to start the season, but they also have the opportunity to work on some of the concerns that have shown up through their first three games because of their schedule.
