If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you might remember we talked about Dawson Mercer’s future last offseason.
A year later, we’re still asking the same questions, and there might be even more uncertainty about his future with the New Jersey Devils this summer.
Mercer is coming off a solid season, but he has failed to take that step forward many of us have been hoping for since the 2022-23 season.
While it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Mercer start 2026-27 with the Devils, it may only be a matter of time before GM Sunny Mehta trades him for an upgrade.
